The Manufacturers (story)
1 - Roc: When J.L. Aultma took over Roc, the company was
scattered all over the place and losing money on all sides. Over
the course of just two years Aultma reversed the trend, turning
the company into a powerhouse in armored vehicle production.
Soon, Roc was the standard in its market niche, producing the most
heavily armored vehicles available. You'll need a large amount of
Bytanium for Roc vehicles, but it'll pay off as you watch the look
of shock on your enemies faces as you blast them away after they've
exhausted all the firepower without even scratching your paint.
However, Roc's primary weaknesses may be focusing too much on armor
and not enough on firepower.
2 - Flash: If versatility and low production time is what
you're looking for, there's only one place to go, and that's Flash
Manufacturers. Flash excels in speed of manufacturing because they
work primarily with iron. Their vehicles are have decent armor and
mediocre weaponry, but when you get the report that an army of 500
enemy vehicles will be arriving in 4 weeks and all but 50 of your
forces are dispersed abroad, you'll take comfort in being able to
call on Flash to pump out battle ready units before the enemy arrives.
Be prepared to spend large amounts of Iron for Flash units.
3 - Advantage: Advantage products were always known for their
speed. Led by its superstar, the brilliant and beautiful chief scientist officer (CSO) Marcy Jules,
Advantage has gone the furthest in developing C-62 for use in vehicles
and weaponry. Though it is not as hard or strong as iron or bytanium,
it makes for a durable, light-weight frame for vehicles that almost
always are faster than other manufacturers and get the first punch
in a battle. The pride of the Advantage Manufacturing Corp stock
is the Hailstorm Cannon, probably the most powerful level 2 weapon
available on the market.
4 - Wolf: Arguably the best all around manufacturer out there,
Wolf focuses on well rounded vehicles that can compete with almost
anything in any situation. Wolf vehicles, on average, rank in the
top three in armor, weaponry, and speed. However, the balanced Wolf
equipment comes at a cost, Wolf is the second slowest manufacturer
after Roc. Wolf focuses on level 2 and level 3 products, and requires large
amounts of Bytanium and C-62.
5 - DDT: A fierce competitor of Wolf, DDT attempt to achieve
the same Wolf balance but with a shorter manufacturing speed. To
do this, DDT uses a lot more Iron, and to maintain unit armor strength,
also Bytanium. This comes at the cost of slowing down the DDT units
attack speed, but you'll definitely find this deficit worth it if
you make it to the upper level DDT units.
6 - Underground: Very little is known about this secretive
group other than the fact that they develop the strongest, most
powerful weapons in the business hands down. Focusing mainly on
level 2 machines, some of their lower level vehicles actually pack
a bigger punch than upper level vehicles from other manufacturers.
And should you decide to invest in Underground products and reach
their top product, the Fusion Cannon, the most powerful single weapon
on the market your opponents will soon wish they were your friends.
You'll need iron and C-62 to work with this company.
7 - Superior: There are those that travel second class and
there are those that travel first class. Superior products are credited
with being the most innovative and deadly in the business. Such
power for your army will come at a heavy price though - Superior
products are the most expensive (requiring equal amounts of all
three resources) and have the longest manufacturing turn around
times. Get them on the battlefield though and you'll forget about
how much you paid or how long you waited as you count up the number
of enemy vehicles they destroyed.
8 - Surreal: - Little is known about this new-comer to the military vehicle
production market. Surreal was the first, and is to date, the only manufacturer capable of
producing stealth units that are virtually undetectable by ordinary targeting and
tracking systems. Only by purchasing and experimenting with Surreal units have other
manufacturers managed to develop systems that can detect stealth, but no one has been able
to duplicate Surreal's results with a level of efficiency sufficient to successfully produce a stealth unit. How Surreal was able to
suddenly produce such a powerful development and force its way into a dominating position in
the military market is a remarkable mystery. Each Surreal unit uses a unique pattern of
resources, require a mixture of various grade levels. You never know when your development
path has reached a point where another Surreal unit is available for you to order.
