Quick Walk Through

For those that want to just jump right in and figure out the little details later, you can ignore Taylor and his suggestions if you follow this guide:

  • When you first log on, change your password by clicking the "Preferences" button on the lower left hand side.
  • Click "Main Office", the first link on the top left side to go back to the front page
  • Here you see across the top in the red bar the amount of each resource that you have, your current reputation, and the number of K-drones you own:
    Bytanium: 100,000 Iron: 100,000C-62: 100,000   Reputation: 4500 K-dro...

  • You'll need resources to do anything (this is MINEwars, afterall), and though you start out with a lot of each resource, you'll need to make sure you have a steady flow coming in to finance your operations. We'll cover two ways to increase your resources in this Walkthrough. The first way is through upgrading mines (Construction/Research) and the second is through K-drones (the main source of war in the game).
  • Let's improve a mine first. Click the "Construction" link on the left side menu.
  • Now in the Construction screen, order the "Improve Bytanium Mine Network." You should see that the cost has been deducted from your available resources and the construction order has begun. You also see that you can only do one construction at a time.
  • Ok, while that's getting built, click the "K-Drones" link on the left side menu.
  • You now see the K-Drone programming page. You should have 100 formatted K-drones. From here you can program them to mine whatever resources you want or need based on your military strategy. If you do not know which resources you need yet or have not yet formulated a strategy, you should probably program around 50 (B)K-drones, 25 (I)K-drones, and 25 (C)K-drones. The reason is, if you do not take military stratagy into account, Bytanium is the most valuable resource. This is because, as you can see in the box above the "Program K-Drones" button, it will cost you a certain amount of Bytanium to program your K-drones. You'll also find later on that if you want to search the Blackmarket for more K-drones or run Missions against foreign sections, it will also cost you Bytanium. You rarely will need to spend just Iron or just C-62 on a purchase, therefore Bytnium is a little more valuable than the other two.
  • To see the value of the K-drones, click "Base Stats". You should now see your Resource Report, displaying your new production rates based on your K-drone programming. See how much those K-drones bring in each week? Imagine if you made a few good attack runs, stole K-drones from your targets and tripled the number of K-drones you had? Quadrupled? All in good time, all in good time...
  • To do any attacking, we'll need to look at the units. Click "Unit Production" to see which units you have available to you and how much they cost. You'll notice that they are all Level 1 units. In order to get to the higher level (stronger) units, you'll need to build Refineries. After your first Improved Mine Network is complete, you'll be able to build a Refinery to increase the quality of that resource. As you progress, you'll notice sometimes you'll need to research building plans in order to build the next building.
  •
First, the most important unit in the game. Check the "All" check box and click "View/Order Units." Look at that list of units available to you and see if you can guess which one is the most important. It's the very last one, the Tarantula. This unit is what you will use to steal K-drones from your targets. Next, take a look at the Buster unit. You see it is an ASU, a defensive unit. This type of unit attacks Tarantulas exclusively. Enter 25 in the text box next to the Buster and click "View/Order Units." After the screen refreshes, scroll down to the bottom. You should see "25 Buster-FL ordered, 1 weeks remaining." So in one week (one hour, or less, depending on what time you place the order) 25 Busters will appear in your Command Center.

    Buster-FL
  • You now have a basic grasp of the fundamental aspects of the game - mining resources, refining resources, developing your base, and developing your army. This concludes the basic walk-through. If you feel up to it and have a good grasp of these fundamental aspects, you can go on and read one of the Intermmideate Walk-Throughs. You'll find this is an easy game to learn to play, but there is a lot of information both apparent and hidden for you to discover. If you're experienced in these types of war games, you might have already read all you need to read in terms of help files. If you like to dig in and want to know more, there's plenty of that. Either way you go, good luck!
