END-ROUND SUMMARY

It was the miners versus the warriors in Round 16, with the warriors taking the number 1 spot but overall a tie. Chaos is an ancient clan of Cincomm-9, second oldest of all clans, led by Elder Rookie who recently crossed the 1000 day mark. The public face of the clan was Irondog, whom I believe was in Chaos several rounds ago, left to join DOM, and now returned to his roots. Also joining Chaos this round is the enigmatic General Woodall.

On a side note, I must say that Woodall is in a class in which there are rightly three members, himself, Justinsane, and WillyWonka (long time retired). There are those, like Elder Rookie and Gen. Smidsy, who build a clan and stick with it for the long haul, never leaving. And there are those who may appear anywhere in a given round, solo one round, in this clan the next round and in another clan the next. Among those transient shifters, Woodall, Justinsane and WillyWonka are the masters. They have connections and reputations that allow them to appear in even elite clans, but also succeed there.

But back to the summary. As reported in the Apex history posts, Chaos and Apex agreed to a round-length NAP. This turned out to be a good move for both clans at the start, but may have played more to Chaos favor near the end. Based on the results of Round 15, the clan that Apex lent greatest attention to was the rapidly growing Imperium (IMP). IMP was led by General Hellfire, who earned the number 1 spot in HOF the prior round, and he was soon joined by another HOF member MarcosHavoc. At one point I think the clan grew to 17 members strong, outnumbering Apex.

From what I've been told, Apex weighed war with IMP cautiously and did not initiate, and IMP first focused its attacks on Chaos. When GeneralHellfire gave the orders to Apex for kdrones, however, Apex's counter-attack was severe. The highly anticipated war between IMP and Apex turned out to be anti-climatic. Perhaps IMP bite off more than it could chew, fighting Chaos and Apex, or perhaps they underestimated how effective the Apex counter-attacks would be. Whatever the reason, by mid-round IMP was all but destroyed.
