END-ROUND SUMMARY
There was a lot of intense fighting going on, some take downs and rebuilds, massive
battles, and by week 1000 the order for 9-14 was:

But look at those rates for Balance and Barsetter - they strapped
on jetpacks and sky-rocketted up gaining 40K and 32K per week now!
At this point I am sure it was clear to everyone on Cincomm-9 what the deal was. Apex
intended to sweep the boards. There were rally cries and noble attacks against the lower Apex
members, but it was seemingly to no avail, Balance and Barsetter continued to rise.
And now let's go to the money shot, the photo finish. You've got to see these
on a play-by-play level in order
to understand what happened - and it all went down in the last 3 hours of the round. The battle for the 10th
spot looked all but over. Champaigne bottles were no doubt popping in Apex HQ, for the
most incredible record of all was just hours away from being theirs exclusively -
they were about to become the first and only clan to sweep the HOF. By now all contenders
had fallen off... all except one:

Week 1165 began uneventful, Justin ran some air raids across Ozz's
base. They were flawless, he blew stuff apart with no losses,
as expected from one of his caliber. Figuring he had cleared enough,
he moved in with heavy ground. Mistake number 1.
Ozz was loaded with missiles hidden in his cavern:

Our Cherokee-AD took out 4,537 enemy Krusher-RO.
Our Dread-UG devastated the attacking Rumbler-RO! They are ancient history!
Our Rumbler-RO took out 237 enemy Krusher-RO.

Justin shook it off and must have figured he cleared all the missiles. It probably
didn't feel good to get sucker punched like that, so a bit of revenge was in order.
Mistake number 2. Ozz had plenty of missiles left:

Meanwhile, as those very attacks were going on, Ozz received donations from clans members and
as soon as Justin left, he loaded up his army, preparing
for a huge strike on ... who? Not Barsetter, who was just above him, but Shadows, who
was already secured in her HOF. This was the right move, he would
get major score but not give Barsetter any points in defense.
Ozz went in with an army of 60,277 up against a defense of 213,068.
His first wave was a huge strategic victory
in which he suffered 14,448 losses to her 26,939 and managed to salvage over 6,000,000
in total resources. The second wave was even better, he lost 5,847 to her 13,031,
and so on. In each wave he destroyed more, lost less, and salvaged millions of resources.
With these victories, suddenly the gap between #9 and #10 grew considerably shorter.
But Ozz wasn't through yet.
