MID ROUND SUMMARY
The Third Cycle of Minewars: Cincomm-9 started off with a bang. Apparently the 2nd and 3rd ranked clans of the last cycle joined forces
to attack the reigning champions, DFWD. In a surprise move, this new so-called METRO-DOM alliance attacked early and attacked fast by
assembling "two strike teams" to take out the top two DFWD members from last cycle. The increased
numbers of Section Leaders combined with the coordinated quick jump attacks (led by Megatron and Mystic?) was too much for DFWD and the mighty clan took a hard blow,
forced to endure the taunts and rants of the new super-power to be, M-D.
What happened next is not quite clear, those involved may explain it more if asked, but a new clan, AEGIS, was quickly rising up the ranks. The M-D alliance
members peppered the top of the boards, with AEGIS being the only other clan making an appearance. The talk seemed to indicate a joint effort by
AEGIS and DFWD to stop M-D, but it is not clear whether or not this materialized. What is clear is that there was some type of
skirmish between a top AEGIS, Forseti, and a top DOM, Sokar, which escalated into a battle drawing in other DOM members to attack AEGIS.
AEGIS lost it's top two members due to RL issues and disappeared off the radar shortly thereafter.
Again, the internals of the next event are cloudy at best, but this much is certain: the M-D reign was short-lived indeed. Several high-ranking
DOM members broke off to form Rebellious (RBL) and launched an attack on their former allies, METRO. Utilizing the same quick-strike tactic
that led to M-D's success, RBL dealt METRO a fierce blow. After losing such power players, DOM fell apart shortly thereafter. Former DOM leader Mystic
eventually joined AEGIS.
The string of back-to-back victories for RBL (first against DFWD, then AEGIS, then METRO) propelled RBL's leader, Iceflame, into the stratosphere.
Looking down beneath him, he sees a convoluted mix of his own clan, RBL, his former ally METRO, now struggling in its war against RBL, his former foe AEGIS, and last but certainly not
least, former champions DFWD. Amidst the wars and skirmishes of M-D/RBL/AEGIS, DFWD has quietly been rising back up through the ranks. It is far too early to
tell whether or not this veteran clan will regain the throne before rounds end.
How will this round end? Will Iceflame and RBL remain securely planted at the top? Will DFWD make a comeback and rise to its former glory? Will
METRO make another power-play joining with another clan again? Only time will tell...
(send me any additional facts/corrections through game mail)
END ROUND SUMMARY
As you can see, RBL held onto its commanding lead, finishing strong occupying the top 4 positions. METRO fell hard from the
attack by RBL and never fully recovered, placing only one member in the top 10. Making a strong rush and good finish, clan Aegis
put two of its members in the Hall of Fame. And DFWD proved it's veteran status by coming back to finish as the second
highest clan, taking 3 of the top 10 slots.
