HALL OF LEGEND

Recorded after the first 15 Cycles, before you are the legendary section leaders that have led armies and proven themselves on Cincomm-9. Numbers of HOF entries do not earn legendary status, but rather a showing of ability through both the stars, the stripes earned in the battlefield, the respect shown by peers, and something else, impressive feats observed by the game creator or reported in forums. Not until the 30th Cycle will a new group be admitted into the Hall of Legend...

LEGENDS

strange
rank: Elder | numHOF stars: 11 | rounds played: 1-current
Dating back to the first round, strange is one of the most decorated players in Cincomm-9. Having seen it all, from founding and leading a small clan of 4 to founding and leading a large clan of 30, stange has repeatedly made HOF entry after entry, including number 1 finishes more than once.

Well respected by all players, strange is always open to provide advice to newer players that ask. Some tap well into this well of knowledge and the results show. He generally points newer players in the right direction or gets them to think about a problem in a different way instead of outright answering them in the chatbox.

The game creator has observed strange make the most unlikely comebacks, showing unusual foresight into both battle and overall round mechanics. At times, if one were to take a look at his base early in the round it might not make sense, but then a look later on in the round shows a well-thought out long term plan in action. His ability to lead different styles of clans is also very commendable, as well as his own style of leadership in forming an elite clan of highly experienced players. For a period of rounds there was an ongoing series of battles between clans led by strange and a clan led by another legend player, Megatron. The game creator observed these wars with great interest - they rank among the most impressive exchanges in Minewars history. Though both are great players and both earned HOF stars, strange-led clans came out on top more often than not. But what is most impressive about these wars is this: never has there been posted on forum or chatbox a single insult from strange or Megatron against the other.
Iceflame
rank: N/A | numHOF stars: 2 | rounds played: 1-6
One of the early superstars of Cincomm-9, Iceflame proved himself to be a formidable section leader making HOF entries more than once and flatening strong opponents on the way. Even after his departure, he remains one of the most remembered players by the Elder players, and for good reason. One of his impressive feats is the formulation of battle tactics that were so effective they became standard means of survival. Although some things seem obvious now, Iceflame was the first to make serious use of the Arrow (and other Advantage units) in high mass to take air superiority. Also, he is believed to be one of the first and the few to develop refineries in an order with an actual strategy in mind.

Another impressive feat observed by the game creator was the move to break the DOM-METRO alliance and form RBL (you can read about it in the HOF Round 4 summary). At that time that type of political finagaling was uncommon on Cincomm-9, especially not to that level of success (to achieve a number 1 finish). Clans come and clans go round after round, but few players make clan moves strategicialy timed and planned that lead to a better situation for them and their friends as well as Iceflame did.

Just as impressive were the numerous ideas Iceflame provided for the game. A prolific and creative thinker, he was, in his day, one of the top submitters of ideas that actually came to pass in the game.
Wraith
rank: Elder | numHOF stars: 10 | rounds played: 1-current
The current record holder for the longest streak of consecutive HOF entries (7) and also the oldest player in the game, Wraith is highly skilled in the military aspects of Minewars. He is well known in Cincomm-9 for his base-wrecking ability and well respected both for that strength and his overall character. He is more the military general type than the politician, a different style from strange or Iceflame. Wraith is the sort of section leader who would be the first pick of any clan leader, but seems to prefer not to be a clan leader himself.

One need only spend a round or two on Cincomm-9 to be impressed by Wraith's military skill. Countless times over the years the game creator has seen the lament "I just got cleared by Wraith!" in the forum and in the chatbox.

Wraith is also a great help in finding bugs and making suggestions for the game. He normally keeps an eye on balance issues and provides invaluable comments on new ideas as how they could effect the overall balance of the game.

Wraith has been a teammate of strange for a long time, and also an enemy of Megatron (and Elder Lloyd) for a long time as well. From an observer's perspective, it appears that Wraith was often a front-line type of fighter in the wars against METRO. To his credit as well, never has there been an ill word or flame war exchanged between he and Megatron or Lloyd. The civility and respect exhibited between these top fighters has been unmatched since.
Megatron
rank: Elder | numHOF stars: 5 | rounds played: 1-current
The founder of the currently oldest clan in the game, METRO, Megaton is highly-skilled all around in all aspects of Minewars, though not so active in recent rounds as he once was. Among the Elders and Generals, his reputation is top notch in terms of battle skills and leadership. Somewhat reclusive now, very rarely you may see a comment from him in the chatbox, sometimes answering a newbie question, or occasionally commenting on a potential new feature in the forum. But back in the day, he was quite active and is one of the 6 out of the 2700+ players that have set foot on Cincomm-9 to earn the green star.

The game creator was most impressed with Megatron's desire for challenge. There were, in the old days, powerful areas instead of powerful clans, and Megatron was always the force that opposed the reigning superpower. Where Wraith pays attention to game balance in terms of code, Megatron watched game balance in terms of teams. Even when it appeared at times that he could join, Megatron never joined a super power, but instead always wanted to challenge the power. Even in recent times, it appears that although he is not active he briefly appeared during the Round 13 Chaos Round to answer a battle challenge posed to the public at large by strange. In his classic style, he posted in depth analysis in the forum.

Also impressive, when he was active, was those long battle analysis posts he would write and his strategy ideas. Some of his posts in the forum would go to great lengths to explain every aspect of a battle, even giving insight into inner clan communications and reasoning.

In line with his accept-the-challenge thinking, Megatron normally argued in favor of some of the most controversial game changes, making him a liberal in the game change politics. Top representatives of the conservatives were Willy-wonka and later, justinsane. In battle, Megaton's chief rivals were the strange-led clans (AEGIS, HC, TLS), as well as CHAOS, another old clan that often allied with TLS.
Jweet
rank: Elder | numHOF stars: 6 | rounds played: 1-15
If Wraith is considered somewhat reclusive, Jweet could be considered a hermit. Though often highly active within his clan, until recently he rarely spoke outside of his clan forum, and when he did, it would often be a short comment. But actions speak much louder than words.

What is most impressive about Jweet is his high level of effeciency. Jweet does not engage in any meaningless battle. One would be hard-pressed to find a section leader with the success percentage rate equal to Jweet's. He acquires a target, plans out what it will take to handle the matter, patiently builds up what is needed, and finishes the job. In that order. All the time. Even if he never had a single HOF entry, his meticulous battle style alone merits him legend status. The game creator cannot observe all battles, but it seems almost everytime a battle of Jweet's was observed, it was succesful - most impressive. I cannot recall seeing a Jweet "test attack" or "skirmish." Only full-scale, successful attacks.

Jweet is also a part of the core unit of the strange-led clans that defeated METRO. In all his battles, Jweet seems to never have anything bad to say about anyone. Another trait that adds to his status on this page.
