END-ROUND SUMMARY (cont.)
One should consider that Apex has 4 veteran members that have worked together extremely well for
multiple HOF appearances. Other than General Hellfire and MarcusHavoc, most of IMP was
working together for the first time. Fatally costly error on the part of IMP.
Having defeated IMP, Apex turned attention to attacks from arch-enemy, Cincomm-9 Commonwealth (C9C). C9C is led
by Gen. Ozzarkess and a high council in a democratic fashion with the goal of taking
in any new player that seeks help. Having been the largest clan for several rounds now it
has been difficult to manage and attend to the needs of so many players, but against the odds
(it was said that C9C was too large to survive) C9C has fought on. Gen. Smidsy, the leader
of Apex personally commended C9C for its courage, and as an observer I have seen the attitude
of Apex towards C9C change over the rounds. Whereas before they considered them a band
of bullseyes, they now show a new level of respect and you'll see Apex members warning
their newer members and others not to understimate C9C.
Watching from outside, I see the high council of C9C growing higher and higher in rank and
experience. But their time for HOF has not yet come, as in the wars with Apex in Round 16
Apex emerged the victor.
Apex was now 2-0 in major wars of the round. By the 3/4 mark, the leaderboard comprised a mix of Apex and Chaos, and as the end drew
near the race was on between these two NAP'ed clans as to which would achieve the more HOF
appearances. And herein the frustration of Apex became apparent. Chaos had engaged in some
wars and did have warriors among their ranks, but a good portion of the clan was
principally engaged in the industry of mining. Apex, on the other hand, was something like the 300 yelling
out "AHOO, AHOO!" in response to Leonidas asking what is their profession. Each
one a warrior with hands tied now, due to diplomatic agreements with their now-chief
rival.
Nevertheless, with less than 10 days to go it appeared as though Apex would take the honors,
leading the HOF count 6-4. At that moment, one of the Apex warriors was felled. Defeated
and cleared of his k-drones, he slipped out of the race, unable to outmine the miners
of Chaos. The final HOF count was a draw, 5-5.
This was an excellent finish by Chaos, re-emerging as a preimenent force and proving
that minewars is two-part, mining and warring. This round showed that those that
effectively manage/pool their resources and develop their mining operations, as well
as develop key diplomatic relations, can achieve success. As was pointed out in the
main forum, Elder Redmax of Chaos, though he commanded a huge operation and a formidable
army, mined his way into the HOF without firing a single shot.

Lt. Col. balance, and Maj. HOyaman!
