Minewars: Teamwars is a free, browser-based war strategy game based off of a mix of the original Minewars: Cincomm-9 and Minewars: Lost Mines. It is definitely a unique and fun challenge unlike anything elsewhere on the web. You need not have played Cincomm-9 or Lost Mines to learn this game, although of course it would certainly help get you up to speed quicker. Here's the deal:

As the title says, it's all about teamwork. You join a 4-player team and make it your business to have your team end the round with one of the top 3 highest scores.
The battles take place on an 8 x 8 area map. You start out with a main base somewhere on the board, but you cannot see who or what is in any other area unless you build an outpost there. There are 8 different types of outposts, each with their own purposes and uses.
You earn score for you team in roughly three ways: 1- mining resources, 2- destroying enemy units, 3- holding kdrones (a special mining bot that if you have any of, you must protect or others will come and take them). You might decide to start out outside of your team in order to obtain certain technology that only solo players can get. Any score earned during time outside of the team does not count to the team score. But you could end up making it up big time with great tech when you return!
Easy to learn, especially if you join a good team that can help answer questions. You'll enjoy exploring many layers and ways to play, including generals that level up and earn specialty bonuses (land, air, space), aces that you can recruit and train, over 80 different types of units, and over 30 different research branches to explore.
You migh find a good team and stick together to try to make a run at consecutive HOF finishes, or you might switch teams every few rounds to mix it up. Either way, have fun!
